It’s been a hot minute, hasn’t it? I want to apologize for vanishing like that – sometimes life goes sideways, as most of us know all too well. The good news is that I’m back, and better than ever!

So what have I been up to?

Working or posting on snapchat? I’ll never tell.

Well first of all, the reason for my absense was medical. Do I need a doctors note to prove it? I can get it if y’all need it! I’ll spare you the details but as a chef for many years, standing on my feet for 10+ hours a day, my back was just.. bad. For months my doctor pushed me to have surgery and I kept saying “next month, next month” until it couldn’t be pushed back anymore – then we had the Kickstarter (more on that later) and I pushed it back even further, and like a car when you ignore that check engine light for too long, the “fix” was more than expected when I finally got to the mechanic. I mean doctor. You can only push your body so far before it starts to push back. What should have been a 2 week recovery was more like 2 months, and that’s nobody’s fault but my own – I just dunno how to be still, y’all. I need to work on that.

The upshot is that I needed some downtime and the Universe provided – whether I wanted it or not. But I’m back and ready to kill it.

As for the Kickstarter – thank you all SO MUCH for all your support. We were unsuccessful in raising the funds that we needed but man, I really felt the love, regardless. Sometimes failure is the kick-in-the-butt that you need to make some big changes – and that’s what’s happening here. Stay tuned for details.

So what does that look like going forward?

Well first, it looks hella cute:

And it looks like this:

Not shown: the equally awesome pile of sweets that’ll join these bad boys at the market! Come get you some!

That’s a whole lot of treats that YOU can buy – if you’re in Austin, anyway. I’m doing a test run at selling my goodies (my baked goodies, that is) at an awesome new farmer’s market that has opened in Liberty Hill, just north of Austin. It’s called The Market at Indian Mound Ranch – want to come out? Here’s a link to the market’s Facebook Page so you can get directions and hours! They’ve got fresh veggies and all sorts of great stuff – plus me! At least this weekend.

We’re going to get back to posting here regularly, and we had SO MUCH FUN with the Facebook live broadcasts during the Kickstarter, we’re going to start doing that more often, too! Thanks for sticking it out with me, y’all. Your support means so much.
