This is month for all those yummy treats we think about all year long. You can save money by making a lot of your own spice blends for your baking, or even mix them up and give them as gifts! Allspice is the base for a lot of these, and you can find it in the store or for about 1/3 of the price, you can make your own!

A lot of bigger grocery stores have a bulk spice section where you can buy just what you need and not wind up with a bunch of half-emtpy containers in your spice cabinet that will go bad before NEXT Christmas when you’ll need them again! (Shelf life on most spices is about 6 months)
